Through positive behaviour strategies and collaboration, we support participants to gain control, independence and to make positive lifestyle changes.Whether you are an experienced practitioner, fresh out of university or in the process of completing a qualification in Psychology, Social Work or similar, this is your opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people living with a disability. We will provide you with a structured induction and on the job training to ensure you have all of the necessary tools to succeed in your role!Your day to dayBuilding close relationships with participants, their families and service providers by creating a supportive and safe environmentProviding professional information to people with disability and their support circle regarding evidence-based approaches to reduce the impact of challenging behaviourEnsuring the support that we deliver aligns with the NDIS participants’ NDIS PlanDeveloping and implementing intervention strategies in consultation with individuals and familiesEnsuring support plans, notes and documents are recorded in line with the NDIS framework and with a high level of care and accuracyComfortable with daily travel servicing the Caboolture/Moreton and Redcliffe Peninsula areas.What you will bring to the roleCompleted or in the process of completing a degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or similar - a mustExperience or knowledge of contemporary practices and trends in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities The ability to motivate, build rapport and attune with participants, their families and service providers - you are a true people personKnowledge of or experience with restrictive practicesExposure to developing and implementing positive behaviour support plansAn understanding of good clinical practice, the jurisdictional requirements in QLD and the context in which Behaviour Support is providedStrong communication, IT, admin and organisation skills as you will be working with billable timeAdditional requirements:Right to Work in Australia i.e., Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa with permission to work - excludes visas with Temporary Work RightsA current Blue Card and NDIS Worker's Screening Check, or the willingness to gain these clearances if successfulA current and valid Driver’s Licence Willingness to undertake a "Fit2Work" Police CheckHow to ApplyTo demonstrate your interest in this role, please submit a cover letter and up to date resume outlining your relevant experience.
