We provide supportive education, training and employment programs to a diverse community and have a rich history of inclusivity delivering person centred training to those who face barriers in training and unemployment; and that is where you come in!About the RoleAs a Support Officer your main responsibility will be to support the educational and placement services being provided to students, it does not include teaching.  You will support the Trainer/Assessor who will be delivering nationally endorsed Training Packages/accredited courses and/or customised industry courses.The work will include supporting the Trainer and students in the classroom and/or assessing students in their workplace. You will also be assisting with placement activities, preparing appropriate resources and classes based on Training Packages.Your day to daySupport to the teacher by assisting with classroom activities, including preparing materials, distributing assessments, and helping students with tasks.Work closely with students, especially those who may need extra help, by offering one-on-one assistance with assessments, understanding concepts, or reinforcing learning objectives.Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing behaviour management strategies and offering support to students with behavioural challenges.Monitor students during various activities, such as class activities, practical placement and excursions, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting positive social interactions.What you will bring to the role:This is an entry-level role; prior experience is not requiredDemonstrated capacity to adhere to Trainer/VET guidelines and provide support to students with specific needsStrong verbal, written communication, and organisational skillsProven awareness of the challenges faced by learners with cognitive or intellectual needs, particularly adult learnersCertificate IV Disability or Certificate IV in Educational Support is an advantage but not mandatoryAbility to engage students in a compassionate and understanding manner, showcasing genuine people skillsAdditional requirements:Right to Work in Australia i.e., Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa with permission to work - excludes visas with Temporary Work RightsA current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker's Screening Check, or the willingness to gain these clearances if successfulWillingness to undertake a "Fit2Work" Police CheckHow to ApplyTo demonstrate your interest in this role, please submit a cover letter and an up-to-date resume.
